VA Group Becomes First International Developer to Deliver a Project under Port Sultan Qaboos Waterfront Masterplan, in Partnership with OMRAN Group

VA Group, an international real estate developer, has secured long-term land rights in Muttrah for its development project, becoming the first international company to deliver a phase within the Port Sultan Qaboos Waterfront Masterplan. The project is being advanced in close partnership with OMRAN Group.

Situated within Muscat, Muttrah is one of Oman’s most iconic waterfront destinations and the historical and emotional heart of the Sultanate. For centuries, this ancient harbor district served as the Sultanate’s principal gateway to the world, shaped by maritime trade and cultural dialogue.

As a part of the Port Sultan Qaboos Waterfront Masterplan, VA Group will deliver its Muttrah Waterfront Development. While full details are not being disclosed at this time, the project is designed as a mixed-use, master-planned destination combining premium residences with world-class public spaces, a signature waterfront promenade, parks, sports and leisure facilities, and carefully curated retail and cultural attractions. The total development site area is around 18.5 hectares, equivalent to approximately 23 football fields.

Conceived to complement Muttrah’s rich cultural and historical identity, VA Group’s development will contribute to the district’s long-term transformation and revitalization, boosting Oman’s tourism offering and enriching lifestyle experiences along the capital’s waterfront. Muttrah Waterfront Development will represent a rare opportunity to reside where authentic history and modernity intertwine amid ancient fortresses, a vibrant community rhythm, and the unmistakable character of a district that has welcomed the world for generations.

Mohamed Saif Al Shaqsi, Executive Director for the GCC Region at VA Group Oman, commented: “To develop in Muttrah, within the Port Sultan Qaboos Waterfront Masterplan, is to carry an extraordinary responsibility and, above all, a privilege. The property here carries not only an address, but also historical weight. We will soon announce the name and details of this unique project, delivering something enduring and worthy of this place and its people.”

As a strategic partner of OMRAN Group, VA Group supports initiatives aligned with Oman Vision 2040. Muttrah Waterfront Development addresses key pillars of the national agenda, including economic diversification and long-term investment attraction through world-class urban planning and sustainable infrastructure design, positioning Oman as a premier tourism destination, and enhancing quality of life by creating integrated communities with vibrant public spaces and cultural environments. Furthermore, VA Group supports Oman’s In-Country Value (ICV) principles, generating significant direct and indirect employment opportunities across the development lifecycle and ensuring lasting benefits for Oman’s economy and society.
